You just purchased a beautiful new house at half of its appraised value of $500,000. the only problem: there is a giant oak next to the house and it keeps dropping branches on the roof causing great damage. What do you do?
Well, if you are a liberal, you go out and cut up each branch that falls on the roof. You figure that branch won't be able to do anymore damage after you chop it up. You then deamand that the governement pay for the continual damage caused by branches falling from the sky onto your roof.
If you are a conservative, you cut down the oak and avoid any damage. Sicne you save money on heating with all the firewood you have you can afford to pay the higher taxes do to liberals forcing you to subsidize their roof repairs.
